This is the traditonal way which my paati(Granny) used to prepare . I would like to retain it in her memory and pass on the legacy to my next generations...
1. Soak
1 measure regular rice for 2 to 3 hrs.Drain out water completely and powder it
in the mixer, till fine.
2. If
needed sieve it
3. Add
scraped or powdered iaggery to the flour and mix it. Add Elachi powder.
4. Add
1 spoon of ghee and mix by hand to form a ball. It will not be firm, thats ok
Make a small well. Place 2 bhattis, add ½ spoon ghee
and light the lamp in front of Andal Godess during Ashadamasa, also known as
“Adi masa” in Tamil.
